Celebrating Settlers, Inc. programs for 54 Years

Settlers invite you to join their 2025-2026 Series of Hand-Arts Classes. Programs will include the life style and interests of the residents as life progressed from a log house by the river to a stately brick mansion beside the street.

Individual classes are $20 each and advanced registration is necessary. The Series of 6 Classes is only $40 if purchased as a Settlers, Inc. Series Membership. Classes meet on Thursday mornings (unless Fort Wayne Community Schools are closed due to inclement weather.)

Classes are open to anyone 14 years old or older (age 14-18 must attend with an adult). Doors open at 9:00 am, program is 9:30 am - 11:30 am.

1844 Swinney Homestead Open House / West Central Historic Homes Tour
The Swinney House and Log House will be open for walk-through tours during the West Central Historic Home Tour hours of 11:00 a.m. – 5 p.m. No admission charge. (260) 424-7212.

September 20 & 21, 2025
Settlers' Pioneer Village - Johnny Appleseed Festival
Saturday 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; Sunday 10:00 a.m.–5 p.m. Johnny Appleseed/Archer Park, 1502 Harry W. Baals Drive, Fort Wayne, IN. Free admission; charge for parking (free parking at IPFW with shuttle to JA Festival). Costumed Settlers demonstrate historic hand arts. You are invited to be a "Settler-for-a day" and demonstrate your historic craft skills at the Festival. See "Volunteer Efforts" page for details.

Swinney Homestead Open House
The Swinney House will be open for walk-through tours. New Historic Hand-Art Classes and Programs for 2026-2027 will be announced. 2026-2027 Settlers, Inc. Memberships will be for sale. Settlers, Inc. always welcome new active, and/or supporting, members!
